The Kalamazoo Robotics Organization is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to fostering a love of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in children through robotics competition.
The organization was founded in 2004 when our first team, The Blue Cheesy Flamingos, was formed. For more than a decade, The Blue Cheesy Flamingos have competed each year in the international FIRST robotics competition earning many awards including two programming awards from the state championship.
In 2013 Kalamazoo Robotics formed a partnership with the Comstock STEM Academy to create a FIRST program with robotics teams for children starting at age six and continuing all the way through high school. With this partnership we are able to expand our facilities and give children a continued exposure to STEM from 1st-12th grade. ** Please note that while we are partnered with Comstock our teams remain open to anyone.
